The Laboratory provides services to all aspects of this Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children's Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center.This position will be instrumental in maintaining a quality of service based on accuracy and timely result reporting. The position will be served as a education and safety coordinator in the Blood Bank department and, and monitors shift operation.
The position performs testing that includes, but is not limited to, type and screen, cross-matching, antibody workup, elution, absorption, antibody titering, neonatal workup, and component preparation.
This CAP and AABB-Accredited Laboratory at the University of Kentucky showcases the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology.Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesClinical Laboratory background, ability to work under pressure, to work independently and to work well with others. NoPreferred Education/ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
