The Department of Pediatrics at Albany Medical Center is seeking a full-time Pediatric Neurologist to join the faculty of The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital—the only children’s hospital in northeastern New York and home to Albany Medical College.
About the Role
We are recruiting a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric neurologist to join our growing clinical program. Candidates with an interest in general pediatric neurology are welcome, and those with subspecialty training in epilepsy especially encouraged to apply.
The Division of Pediatric Neurology
- 3 full-time pediatric neurologists
- 3 nurse practitioners
- 4 part-time attending physicians
- Neuropsychologist, psychologist, and social worker
- Strong nursing and administrative support
Clinical & Academic Environment
- Collaborative network of pediatric subspecialists across the Children’s Hospital
- Close affiliation with adult neurology divisions in epilepsy, neuromuscular, vascular, and movement disorders
- Established epilepsy surgery program with opportunities to expand pediatric involvement
- Rich academic environment with opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows
- Faculty appointment at Albany Medical College with academic rank based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care in pediatric neurology
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of medical students and residents
- Contribute to the growth of specialized programs in epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, or other areas of interest
- Engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary patient care within the Children’s Hospital
Qualifications
- MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Neurology
- Interest in general pediatric neurology; subspecialty training in epilepsy
- Commitment to clinical care, teaching, and academic medicine
