Pediatric Psychologist – Focus Sickle Cell - Columbia, SC
Prisma Health Medical Group-Midlands and the University of South Carolina, Department of Pediatrics, are seeking a full time Pediatric Psychologist, based in our growing division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Primary responsibilities will be patient behavioral monitoring, screening, evaluation, and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults followed by the outpatient sickle cell clinic. The team includes hematologists, nurses, neuropsychology, social workers, and child life staff specialists.
Details:
- Provide individual and child-family therapeutic interventions. Utilize independent decision-making in plan of care for therapy services provided.
- Conduct monitoring, screening, and evaluation of psychological health and wellness.
- Provide timely professional documentation of psychological assessment, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in the training/teaching of students and residents.
- Work in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team to make appropriate referrals to other professionals or community services as needed.
- Actively participate in the development and improvement of psychological services, to include community outreach and education
