Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seek an Adolescent Medicine physician (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
About the Job:
- The successful candidate will join our group of two adolescent medicine physicians, including full-time clinical and combination clinical-research faculty with funding through NIH and private funding mechanisms.
- Clinical responsibilities will include seeing adolescent and young adult patients with duties that entail a mix of general adolescent clinic and participation in multidisciplinary clinics, inpatient consults, and telemedicine in collaboration with advance practice providers throughout the state.
- In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents.
Qualifications:
- Must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
- Eligible for state medical license
- Completion of a pediatrics, medicine/pediatrics, or family medicine residency program, as well as an adolescent medicine fellowship program
- Must be board certified/eligible in adolescent medicine
About WVU Medicine Children’s:
Our newly opened 150 bed Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.
