Description

The Department of Chemistry at Tulane University seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry. We are particularly interested in scholars whose research complements existing departmental strengths and advances innovation in areas such as bioorganic, physical organic, or sustainable chemistry.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research program, secure external funding, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to excellence in teaching.  Competitive startup funds will be provided.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program.
• Strong record of scholarly achievement and research productivity.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentoring.

• Research expertise in bioorganic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, sustainable chemistry, or related areas.
